Nick Schlueter
Pianist Nick Schlueter is a staple of the local St. Louis music scene, and is known both throughout the US and internationally for his dynamic accompaniment and improvisational creativity.
As an integral architect of the Common Time sound, Nick introduces an incredible variety of composition and production value to the group's presence, even beyond the plethora of language he has to offer in his performances. Though a pianist at his core, Nick utilizes his extensive knowledge of instrument timbre and rhythmic variety to sculpt compositions for the group that both move and charm audiences, a result of his passion to create art through sound.
A native of St. Louis, Nick earned his Bachelor in Music in Composition from Webster University, where he studied under Paul Demarinis, Dr Michael Parkinson, Kim Portnoy, and Joachim Mencel. As an active musician and keyboardist in all genres of music, he has performed with the likes of Pavlov's Dog, Charles Glenn, Upright Cabaret, Corey Christiansen, Janusz Muniak, Laura Safron, Naked Groove, Dawn Weber, and many more. Nick has also scored countless original tunes and arrangements as a composer for Pavlov's Dog, the Fifth Dimension, Rich Landers, Charles Glenn, Grace Church (Maryland Heights), the Webster University Big Band, and the Scott Air Force Band.
